Alex Lawley: Baby Updates
In the tradition of the pregnancy updates I sent to family during my (much too long) pregnancy with Alex, I'm putting my baby updates up online, as well. If you'd like to get these via e-mail, just ask.
23 Oct 1996: Baby Update #1
All is well here in the Lawley household, and I thought I'd update everyone on Alex's progress. He had his 2-week visit at the doctor yesterday, and he was up to a whopping 10lb, 9oz!! Now, that was with a lightweight cotton romper and a wet diaper on, so he's probably a few ounces less than that..but still, it's well over his birthweight, and *really* over his hospital departure weight of 8lb5oz on 10/10. Two pounds in less than two weeks...quite the little eater!
He got a clean bill of health; everything's in good working order, and even his attempts to break the Guinness record of number of poops in one day is "perfectly normal" according to the doctor.
He's also sleeping pretty well at night; he feeds around 10 or 11, again at 2 or 3, and again at 5 or 6. I've been going to bed early so that I get at least two 3-hour stretches of sleep, which is a *lot* more than I ever got with Lane.
I'm healing pretty well from the c/section, though my ligaments are still pretty sore, and I still tire more quickly than I'd like.
