Favorite Pregnancy Links
These are links to various online sites that are related to babies and/or pregnancy. Suggestions for additions are welcome!
- Online Birth Center
- This site, maintained by Donna Dolezal Zelzer (djz@efn.org), a staff member at Midwifery Today, is a great collection of links to valuable pregnancy-related information! One caveat--the site has a strong emphasis on home birthing using midwives, and a very strong anti-hospital, anti-OB slant, which I don't completely agree with.
- Midwifery Information Page
- Also maintained by Donna (see above), this page includes links for midwives themselves, as well as for those interested in using midwives for their own birth experiences.
- FAQs on Pregnancy (from the misc.kids newsgroup)
- These FAQs (frequently asked questions and their answers) include general pregnancy issues, birth planning, prenatal tests, pregnancy complications, epidurals, pitocins, doulas, c-sections, miscarriages, morning sickness, nutrition, and painkillers in pregnancy. An incredible amount of valuable information!
- Ask NOAH About Pregnancy
- NOAH is the New York Online Access to Health site is a remarkable resource created and maintained by The City University of New York, The New York Academy of Medicine, New York Metropolitan Reference and Research Library Agency, and The New York Public Libary. The pregnancy section has a wealth of information on all aspects of pregnancy and birth. (A spanish language version is available, as well.)
- September Mom's Mailing List
- I've really enjoyed being member of the September Mom's mailing list, a list for women expecting their babies in September of 1996. You can view sonograms/ultrasounds of list member babies on the site as they start arriving. And if you're a member of the list you can see some member specific data.
- Belly Basics
- I don't know how I would have made it through this pregnancy this far without the great clothes that these folks make. The basic kit I bought in a local department store, but I bought several other items that I couldn't find locally from their web site. Cool.
- Keenan Thomas Lawler's Page
- Keenan is infant son of a woman named Elizabeth Lawler, who once contacted me via e-mail because of the similarity in our names. She did a beautiful job on his page(s), and had a really wonderful idea for a day-of-birth present for her son, which can be seen on his Worldwide Birthday Greetings page.
